Not bad, but also not spectacular
1.6 TDI for those of you wondering, and yes it’s a DSG because we didn’t want the hassle of the manual on long trips which can get real tiring real fast.

But, if you are in Europe from the US, why not rent something a little more exotic like a Renault, or SEAT, or some such other than a Golf we also have on this side of the pond? :(

Because any SEAT or Skoda will drive exactly the same as a Volkswagen anyway and non-RS Renaults are either boring or like a 1990s Buick. My old Espace was in the latter category.

I just returned a rental car why my Z was getting body work done. I’m pretty sure i’d rather have had what you have than a 4-cylinder Altima with a CVT.

Come on, that’s not fair. That’s a Mk1 Fabia saloon. That was two gens ago.
The Mk3 is much better looking.

we didn’t get to choose, but we don’t usually get german built golfs that are very well built. The build quality on this golf is very good
